Highland Park
Watercolor /
Landscape
This was an enjoyable painting to create. I used a traditional transparent
watercolor approach for the midground and distance, but mixed white into
the foreground blossoms. The opaque white mixed with the pink gave
the blooms a subtle glow, and they were carefully detailed. The remainder
of the painting is more loosely portrayed, so as not to distract from the blossoms
on the tree as the main focus.
