I took an approach for this painting that was unusual for me,
following a more botanical feel than I normally do.
The Columbine foliage makes way around the hummingbirds, clearly framing
their delicate silhouettes. Carefully detailed with layers of glazing, this painting
has always been a favorite for both friends and family.
