Fall Wheat Field
Watercolor /
Landscape
I drove past a wheat field one day, the corner of which had not yet been mowed down.
As I passed, a ray of sunlight broke through the dark, cloud-filled sky and lit
the stalks of wheat beautifully. It was this dramatic lighting that I wanted to capture;
this was painted from memory when I returned home. With a simple design and
limited color palette, the dynamics of the lighting play the most important role.
