Several sketches from this location were completed on-site, they were then worked
up to create this full-size diptych. The colors were all very transparent,
giving a quiet, restful look to the image. This scene was a
peaceful fall day just before the onset of winter, with some of the last fall colors
in the grasses and brush. During this time of year, when the leaves have all fallen from the trees,
I particularly enjoy the strong colors that remain in the wild grasses, bushes and trees.
