Forest Scene: Cascading Waterfall

This is part of a series of paintings that I did from these waterfalls. Here the churning
rapids and late fall foliage contrast against the texture of the rocks and trees.
Given the very cool weather of the day, the chill sky color is reflected
in the rushing waters below. For the rocks jutting out of the foreground,
earthy sedimentary colors were used to build up their feeling of roughness,
even as the soft mosses cling delicately to the surface.
