This painting was built around the white of the birch tree,
formed by letting the white of the paper shine through.
I worked off sketches that I'd done in a deep pine forest, a place
where deer were frequent visitors. These deer would appear from the trees, bolt past,
then moments later disappear back into the forest depths.
