Plein Air Paintings
The creation of this painting carries a special memory for me.
As a plein air watercolor, this was painted entirely on location.
I started with a very rough thumbnail pencil sketch, working on that until I had
finalized my composition.
Having progressed into my painting,
I was soon joined by an entire busload of inner-city school children, who
had been dropped off in the park for a field trip.
My painting was well underway, so I kept working as the entire class of children
clustered around me. They were all very well behaved and appreciative,
it was wonderful to have their company as I worked. As a result, this painting
always brings back pleasant memories of that day.
