Adirondacks Amber Light
Oils /
Landscape
Painted from memory, I created this image from my memories of driving through
the Adirondacks in the fall. Early morning
mists still cling to the water's surface, softly veiling distant trees.
I deliberately emphasized the design aspects within this composition.
The foreground was kept very dark, framing the dawn-lit waters and distant
forest. A remnant from the cool night, the mist itself is comprised of cool shades,
as it slowly recedes back from the light of the rising sun.
