Winter Afternoon
Digital Paintings /
Landscape
Painted from my memory, this was based on a walk I took down a forest path.
I remembered the nature of the light as it broke through the covering of the
hardwoods, with their branches and twigs lightly dusted in snow.
My goal here was to capture the fading afternoon light. I deliberately
portrayed the lavender-blue ranges of the shadowy snow color against the
delicate shades of low-growing shrubbery in the region.
There is warmth in the light of this setting sun, although the overall
feeling given is very frosty and cold.
