After visiting the Lilac Festival
in Rochester, New York, I had a sketchbook full of images from its flowers
and landscapes. Using some of these pencil sketches as reference
material, I created this charming painting, adding the dogs and people
to capture the feeling of a lovely day at the park. Keeping the features very design-oriented,
this became a different kind of painting for me.
