Pond Bridge
Digital Paintings /
Landscape
I used this image as an exercise to further push the abilities
of the computer as a fine art tool. At a local park, I first
created a quick on-site watercolor of this early winter scene. I used the watercolor to record
natural colors and lighting, and also how the texture of the icy water
contrasted against a subtle winter landscape color palette.
Returning home from my painting trip, I immediately placed the sketch by my computer
and used it as a reference to paint the image from scratch on the 'blank canvas'
of the computer screen. The original watercolor was not scanned into the computer,
it acted solely as a refererence during this process, helping me to remember
the correct colors, scene and lighting elements.
Available as a matted print
