This began as the combination of painting from memory, and also
watching outside my windows to keep track of lighting effects.
Snow blankets this winter landscape as the moon slowly takes over lighting the scene below.
I worked to catch bright glints of new snow crystals reflecting moonlight. This image was actually
the culmination of three separate versions of this scene. The first had only trees,
the second added a snowy path, and with this third variant, the scene had
become a woodland setting.
