This became a very interesting piece to work on. Instead of using my traditional
sketchbook to work out the composition initially, I actually worked out the entire
design from start to finish on the 'blank canvas' of the computer screen.
Starting with a rough sketch, colors and details were added using traditional art
studio methods, yet done entirely on the computer. The color palette used here
gives the mood of evening light, and there is the inferrence of light from
the Christmas star filtering its way through the stable windows.
