Beech Pond Park Meadow
Digital Paintings /
Landscape
The inspiration for this image began with pencil sketches I had done from life
at a local park. Notice the strong directional movement and curvature
of the landscape in this painting. The colors are kept very earthy and true to nature,
while the strong vertical lines and bared braches of the sycamore trees play against
the curving edge of the field and its wild grasses. This was interesting to work on,
the texture of the sycamore trees also plays against the softer texture of the grasses,
while the red of the shrubbery contrasts with the dark shades of the evergreens.
